5 Up-and-Coming Blogs You Should Read:
Um... I've been a little busy at work and in my personal life (trying to buy land from my husband's family has turned into a major soap opera. Back taxes, unfinished mortgages, multiple lawyer visits- OH MY!) so I haven't been on the lookout for new blogs lately. I am well aware that new blogs that I'd love are being born everyday, just waiting for me to find them. Here is what I have found lately:
- Adventures with Shyloh (I know you've already gotten this but...)
- Just Horses
- I Can Haz
- Memoirs of a Horse Girl (your blog still counts as new, right?)
- Reflections on Riding
Congratulations on your award, you deserve it. I'll have to check out these blogs that I haven't read yet.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing worse than family drama. You can pick your friends but not your family, you're stuck with them for better or worse. Hope it all works out for you and the Quarters.
It's been awful, mostly because my husband's family is pathetically awful at money management. If we didn't like that piece of land so danged much this would be much easier. It's also right next to miles and miles of trails I used to ride as a kid.
ReplyDeleteFortunately things are turning around, now we're just trying to find a bank where we can afford to get a construction loan. Closing costs are awful, awful things!
Congrats on your award! And thanks for the award!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your family drama, but the land sounds wonderful! And closing costs. . .what a scam! You have to pay to buy something you are already paying for!
I could not agree more about the closing costs. I've only talked to one bank so far but they wanted to charge $7000 in closing costs. Sorry, but our credit is too good for you and that deal, I said.
DeleteThank you so much for your comment on Chrome's hooves!! That makes a lot of sense and I really appreciate you pointing out specifics for me. I'll bring up the outside heels thing to her. I always thought it was caused by his toeing out causing uneven wear, but if she's leaving them long I can see how that would cause a downward spiral. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very easy thing to do- I know because I've done it. It was taking regular pictures that finally alerted me to my own weakness in this area, now I'm pretty fastidious about getting the heels even.
DeleteWell, my blog is under 50 followers, so I will go with "new".
ReplyDeleteThanks for the award, smaz!
That family situation with purchasing land does not sound like much fun. I hope every thing goes okay.
Hmm, I got confused with that. I was thinking new as in less than a year old. Anyway, you're welcome :)
DeleteMy blog isn't always horse related, but it is newish! I will have to check these five out. I have been finding new blogs based on other people's lists. Oh, and I can relate to the family drama...my mother has 13 siblings. Woo hoo!
ReplyDeletewww.itsbraintime.blogspot.com
I'll check it out today!
DeleteWow... 13 siblings. I'm an only child, I cannot relate at all...
Yay for your award! And many thanks for mine. :) I'm sorry about your family drama. Being careful not to step on anyone's toes makes the frustration of real estate that much more irritating. Keep us posted and take some pictures. It sounds great.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I'm waiting to take pictures until we own it. I don't want to get my hopes up and then have them dashed...
DeleteHiii! Can u email me!? kristenshellenbarger@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI have some hoof questions for you, that Michelle and I are dealing with. More input would help. xoxo

DeleteCongrats on your award! Ah...family....don't get me started! Hope it works out soon for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wolfie, I'm going to talk to a few more banks and see what happens.
