I'm sorry to bring in politics, but this is important. If you oppose Internet censorship then send a message to Congress. You can do it through Google here, through Wikipedia here, or Mozilla here.
For anyone who believes SOPA's a good idea and those folks will have our best interests at heart...Clay Shirkey believes the bill will create a "consumption only" internet (he's got an excellent piece here-- http://www.psfk.com/2012/01/clay-shirky-sopa-would-create-a-consumption-only-internet.html )I show some of Shirkey's talks in my mass com class, and the man knows what he's talking about. (Petition already signed, by the way! Thanks for posting this, smaz.) Those of us who like to blog should be paying attention!
I guess my comment didn't go through the other day but I just read that they postponed this bill. Guess there was a lot of heat about it from all over. Liked Jon Stewart's take on it on the Daily Show.
Thank goodness for small miracles- I caught up on the Daily Show this weekend and I have to agree with you, that show does a good job of getting a point across in a way people will listen to.
It's a bit worrisome, isn't it?
